Midnight in Paris

If you are looking for a good film to watch, here it is:

Paris at night is magic! Who ever had the chance to see this wonderful city at night will agree. The lights of the street lamps reflecting on the Seine, the Eiffeltower sparkling, the breathtaking view from the Sacré-Coeur or from the top of the Centre Pompidou...

There is one person who tried to catch the magic of Paris into a film. A film full of wit and charm, a romantic love letter to Paris. A tale of the seductive parallel world of the 1920s in Paris - all this is Woody Allen's movie "Midnight in Paris"

"Paris in the morning is beautiful Paris in the afternoon is charming Paris in the evening is enchanting But Paris after midnight is MAGIC"

The american author Gil is on holidays in Paris with his fiancée. After a small dispute, she joins her friends to go dancing while Gil decides to walk around in Paris to get some inspiration for his new book. But when the clock anounces midnight, an old car comes across and the people inside invite Gil to join them. Together they drive into the Paris of the 1920s, where Gil meets personalities like Ernest Hemingway, Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, Man Ray, Luis Buñuel and many others.

I personally really liked the film! I think it shows a lot of the great charme which can only be found in Paris. Dreaming of the 'belle époque', the film is funny and moral at the same time. Even tough the characters are quite stereotyped. But nevermind the lovestory is still lovely, so take your best friend, a big cup of ice cream and dream of your own trip to Paris.

"You know, I sometimes think, how is anyone ever gonna come up with a book, or a painting, or a symphony, or a sculpture that can compete with a great city. You can't. Because you look around and every street, every boulevard, is its own special art form and when you think that in the cold, violent, meaningless universe that Paris exists, these lights, I mean come on, there's nothing happening on Jupiter or Neptune, but from way out in space you can see these lights, the cafés, people drinking and singing. For all we know, Paris is the hottest spot in the universe."

Bonjour

Welcome on my Blog
'Bisous, Bisous ...de ma p'tite monde'

In a few days, I'm going to move to Paris, the city of love and fashion and, in my opinion, the most beautiful city in the world.

Maybe you want to know who I am: My name is Pia and I was born in Switzerland hardly 19 years ago. For now, I just finished high school with the main subjects 'arts' and 'biology' and intend to start university with a major in 'media- and communication-sciences'. But at the time I had to fill in the application form for the university, I realized that could really need some time off to become a little clearer about myself and what I'm doing. I was absolutely sure that I wanted to make a work-experience which is later going to help me  for my studies. While I was planning my year off, I suddenly realized that, if I would find a job, I could go everywhere I ever wanted. The world was lying to my feet.
It didn't take me more than two seconds to be damn sure: I want to go to Paris! I've always admired Paris since I was at Disneyland as a little girl. I always thought of it as a magic city and even now, after being there for about ten times and spending weeks in the city of my dreams, my view on Paris didn't change. On the contrary! I love it more and more with every day I spend there.

If you want to learn more about my personality, take a look at the gadget 'C'est moi' at the left side of the blog!

There are two reasons why I created this blog:  The first one is that I'm going to work as a trainee in the field of media- & communicationmanagement and thereby need to get some experience in modern medias just as for example: Blogs. And the second reason is, that I have always been fascinated by the diversity and creativity of all these blogs that exist in the world wide web. The possibilities a blog offers are endless.
And last but not least, this blog will always remind me of the time I spent in Paris (:

So what is this blog about: As, perharps, you already realized in the first part of the post, this blog is going to be a declaration of love to Paris. But it is also going to be about fashion, macarons, people, situations, beauty, my daily life, and anything else crossing my mind.

Et pour finir: Just to excuse my poor language: My native language is german (swiss german, to be precise), I hope you don't spend too much attention on the huge amount of mistakes I make! Further, I am a total newbie with everything concerning blogging and coding. So if you  have any suggestions to help my blog getting better, I will be glad to hear from you!

Enough for the fist time!
I hope to see you again soon on my blog, and until then
